For David and Lisa Entermann, vegetarian week is an opportunity to share the nutritional benefits of their meat-free diet. Now in its third year, vegetarian week aims to showcase the benefits of plant-based diets and encourage Australians to lower their meat intake.
While the Entermanns have no agenda to turn the world vegetarian they would like to encourage people to look at nutrition and new cooking ideas. As part of vegetarian week, a series of cooking classes will be held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church Hall and will include demonstrations, tastings and a variety of meat-free recipes.

One of the little-known gems of the Art Gallery of NSW is its study room. The advantages of the study room were brought home to me recently when I went to look at Eric Wilson's drawing Head Study.
Wilson was born in 1911 in Sydney. A Seventh-day Adventist, he was very serious about his religion and his art. During the war Wilson became a conscientious objector. As a result, in 1942 he had to work as a ward attendant at Lidcombe State Hospital where he was shocked by the condition of the patients.
Wilson was so moved by the plight of the men living at the hospital that he did a series of drawings, one of which is Head Study, and a painting, The Inmates, which is also in the AGNSW collection.
