The president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Vanuatu is in Mackay to meet members of the South Sea Islander community and listen to stories from the ‘blackbirded generation.'

Kay Fatnowna, 72, said some of these Islanders arrived in this region. "There's a lot of missing pieces to my family history and I am looking forward to finding out what Pastor Leeman might know."

ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency) wishes to thank the Granite Belt community for their generous support of $1811, during its August Door Knock Appeal. This figure is the highest total in the past decade and exceeded expectations given the impact of the global economic crisis.

It is nice to know that the funds given by individuals and businesses from our community will help make a significant difference via a range of projects.
