Adventist medical researcher on verge of cancer researh breakthrough

A Seventh-day Adventist medical researcher living in Brisbane, Queensland believes she is on the verge of a breakthrough in cancer research.

Dr Liliana Endo-Munoz says that proposed medications will only increase the chances of osteosarcoma - a bone cancer which affects young people aged between 13 and 19.

And half the people with osteosarcoma will have the disease spread to the lungs.

Dr Endo-Munoz says "I have two teenagers who are right at the age when the cancer hits. I have seen how devastating it is for patients and their family, as well as the trauma of losing loved ones. So I am motivated to find a solution. I believe the project has been blessed by God".

Dr Endo-Munoz has presented her findings in the USA, New Zealand and Australia and has received grants and awards of more than $500,000 to pursue her research.
