Statement: Interruption to Hope Channel transmission
Silver Spring, Maryland
Due to technical problems from the Filipino service provider, South Pacific viewers of Hope Channel International may have noticed some differences in programming.
Programming from Hope Channel Europe is currently being aired to viewers in Africa, Asia and the Pacific Rim, Australia and New Zealand.
"We apologise for this disruption in service," says Brad Thorp, president of Hope Channel. "Hope Channel International will be restored as quickly as possible. We are switching to a different provider with a fiber optic link from Simi Valley to their uplink facility in Israel where it will be uplinked. We are putting extra budget into this on a temporary basis to get the service up and running so that as little disruption as possible occurs. This is to insure much more dependable service for the future."
