Media release: Retirement village evacuates

As a precaution, AdventCare Yarra Ranges in Warburton, Victoria has started evacuation procedures following advice from authorities due to potential fire threats in the area.

The management of AdventCare Yarra Ranges have contacted the families of the residents, informing them of the situation. There are almost 50 residents at AdventCare Yarra Ranges and all are being evacuated following previously established emergency evacuation procedures.

"We have been coordinating with the Department of Health and Ageing, Human Services and Ambulance to assist in placing our residents in temporary accommodation in other aged care facilities to ensure they receive the care that they would normally receive at our facility," says Alex Bolek, manager of AdventCare Yarra Ranges. "AdventCare Yarra Ranges will continue to monitor the situation to ensure the safety and well-being of all our residents."
