Statement: Retirement village residents return

Following the evacuation of AdventCare Yarra Ranges yesterday, I am pleased to announce that we have received the all clear from the relevant authorities and our residents will begin returning to our facility in Warburton this afternoon.

This will be completed with the assistance of the Department of Health and Ageing, Human Services and the ambulance service. The families of residents are also being notified and staff will be on duty to welcome our residents home.

Our main priority at AdventCare is the care of our residents. We did not want to risk having potential threats develop, placing our residents in danger. Our operations manager, Alex Bolek, who has worked tirelessly during this time is looking forward to things getting back to normal.

I can say that we have been blessed by our Heavenly Father, who protected us during this time. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
