Statement: Seventh-day Adventists killed in Pacific tsunami

Five Seventh-day Adventists have been killed in a powerful 8.3-magnitude earthquake that caused tsunami waves to crash into the coast of the Samoan Islands this morning.
According to Aitui Fanene, pastor of the Glenala and Riverview Samoan Adventist churches in Queensland, Australia, "One adult and four children, members from our church at Saleaumua who lived at Lalomanu, have been confirmed dead."
Church leaders and members, including Pastor Neru Nuiialii, youth director of the Samoa and Tokelauan Mission of the Adventist Church, are travelling to the Aleipata region to help the victims.
Students and staff of Samoa Adventist College, located in Lalovaea, have been evacuated to safer grounds on Mount Vaea.
"Please remember the Samoa tsunami victims in your prayers," says Eddie Erika, Sabbath school and prayer ministries director of the Adventist Church in Victoria.
